Arts and Culture Festival 15-19 August 2016

Cricket starts at the Grade 1 level. At this stage players take part in what is called mini-cricket. Bats are smaller, wickets are smaller and a soft ball is used. Emphasis here is on having fun. All the basic cricket skill are coached. The only difference here is that we encourage the players to hit the ball rather than play the ball with a formal stroke.

When they reach the under 11 age group more formal coaching begins. Here they will have coaching lessons of fielding, bowling and batting. At this level they also start playing matches against other schools. We do not play limited over cricket as we concentrate more on correct strokes and fielding, position, i.e. proper cricket skills.

From under 11 they move on to the under 13 age group. Match days are Wednesday and Thursdays with practice days on Mondays and Tuesdays.
